We are pleased to announce Bryan Easson as the new Consultant Director of Rugby. The move signals the club’s ongoing commitment to high-performance rugby with Bryan’s coaching pedigree bringing fresh insight, work ethic and tactical skills to the pitch.
Bryan will focus on the senior men’s and women’s teams, bringing with him a wealth of expertise following his international work in the elite-level game.
Bryan’s career has spanned more than 25 years, and has included roles at the Scottish Rugby Academy, as well as time served as Scotland Women Head Coach and Technical Lead, and as Scotland Under-20 Attack Coach, where he took the team to two Six Nations Championships and two World Cups.
He also took Scotland Women from 13th to 5th in the world, finishing with a Rugby World Cup quarter final. Additionally, Bryan worked and coached in the pro game with Edinburgh rugby.
He will continue his current role as Head Coach and Head of Performance Coaching with Rugby Nederland whilst taking the lead at Dundee Rugby.
The club’s Vice President Bill Anderson said: “We’re thrilled to have Bryan on board. It’s a huge boost to the club to have his level of expertise and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the game, and we’re excited for the coming season.”
Bryan added: “I’m really excited to be joining Dundee Rugby as a consultant Director of Rugby. It’s a club with strong foundations and real potential, and I’m looking forward to supporting the players, coaches, and wider programme as it continues to grow.
This role fits well alongside my ongoing work with Rugby Netherlands, where I remain fully committed as Head Coach and Head of Performance Coaching. The opportunity to contribute in both environments is something I value greatly, as it allows for shared learning, fresh perspectives, and the continued development of high-performance standards.
My focus at Dundee will be to add clarity, alignment, and direction to the rugby programme, while supporting the people within it to be the best they can be. I’m looking forward to getting started and building something positive together.”
