With the festive season over, it is time to confirm bookings for our annual lunch at the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh and to give some preliminary details.

As you will know, this event is very popular and we are almost fully booked, so if you haven't already please let us have notice of any intended booking (or change to a booking) as soon as possible.

We are delighted to confirm that Andy Powell, former Wales back row player, will be our principal speaker. Andy was capped 28 times for Wales and toured with the British Lions to South Africa 2009. Many will be aware of his prowess with a golf buggy, but he has plenty more stories and we are sure he will prove to be a very interesting and engaging speaker! There will of course be the usual additional entertainment provided!

Kick off at Murrayfield is at 4.45 pm so we have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the occasion, but provisional timings are as follows:

For those travelling from Dundee, the bus/buses will leave Mayfield at 9.45 am (but see note below)
11.00 am - meet in Royal Scots Club: both downstairs bars will be open from 10.45
12.20 pm - Lunch etc
3.35 pm - Buses depart for Murrayfield
7.30 - Return bus/buses to Dundee leave Edinburgh (venue tbc)

Important note on Dundee/Edinburgh bus transport:
For those coming from Dundee, we are aware that there are now a couple of cheaper options for bus transport to and from Edinburgh (e.g. Ember) and that an increasing number of you may prefer to take this option. As it happens, this might suit everyone, as a slight reduction in those requiring a return bus from Mayfield would mean only one bus would need to be booked! We would therefore be obliged if you could confirm, where applicable, what form of bus transport you are intending to take.

Price:
We have had to increase the basic price (including bus transport from RSC to Murrayfield) to £80 but the cost including transport from/to Dundee should remain at £95 assuming just one bus (see above). As you know catering and transport costs continue to rise and we have had to reflect this, but we hope you agree this still represents good value.

Please note that you should already have made your own arrangements regarding match tickets, but we will be in touch with those who have requested help with these. For those without tickets, the match will, as usual, be shown in the Royal Scots Club.
