Dear Members,
We, Derek Black and Stuart Allan, the Presidents respectively of Dundee Rugby Club and Morgan Academy FP RFC, are delighted to send you the formal documentation which, if approved at SGMs to be held at Alloway Place beginning at 8pm on 22nd February 2024, will enable the finalisation of the amalgamation process between Morgan Academy FP RFC and Dundee High School FP RFC.
That formal legal process started back in 2021, when Dundee Rugby Club was legally brought into being. A number of matters were of necessity left outstanding at that first stage of the amalgamation for Morgan to progress, all of which, bar one, have been or can now be dealt with. (That one outstanding item – which relates to securing a lease of the playing fields from Dundee City Council – will now be a matter for Dundee Rugby Club to take forward.) The detail of all this is set out more fully in the Note, Notices of SGMs and the other documentation that accompanies this email/letter, and as detailed below. We are sorry there is so much paperwork, but that is the nature of the world we live in today.
Please do take time to read the documentation, if possible, and in particular the Note on Proposals for Final Amalgamation, which explains things very fully. If you have any queries prior to the SGMs, please do let us know, and we will do our best to answer you.
And most importantly, please do attend the SGMs if at all possible, and be part of finalising the arrangements which bring Dundee Rugby Club fully into being! We look forward to seeing you on the night.
