Tomorrow we welcome Boroughmuir in what is the first of 4 home games to round out the season. This, however will be the last time our 1st XV play at Mayfield, as our pitches need some much needed rest.
Coach Brown’s thoughts:
We’re looking forward to getting back to Mayfield, I hope that we start well and can show our supporters how much we have improved; both defensively and in attack. Our team has really matured over the season and hopefully Saturday shows how far we have come. Unfortunately we’ve lost our top try scorer Bradley McNamara for the rest of the season - he has damaged ligaments in his hand after another strong performance against Heriots last week Hopefully he makes a quick recovery in time for pre-season. Returning in the pack is Lliam Quarm, who’s been out for a number of weeks but should be looking to make an impact from the second row. Boroughmuir - whilst already relegated - are a potential banana skin for us in that they’ve got some outstanding individuals and have scored some great tries in the last few weeks. We won’t be taking them lightly.
My message to the team this week has been - we may be safe, but we aren’t sitting back and resting; we are after 4 wins in the coming weeks and getting as many points as possible. We need to start strongly and not take our foot off the gas at any point. I hope as many of our supporters can make it down to Mayfield this weekend, 3pm KO.
