A glorious day for rugby, and this is exactly what was provided as Dundee Rugby's U13s visited Perth's North Inch to play Perthshire.

The excitement for this game was palpable as the team hadn't played a competitive match for 7 weeks, added to that a few of the team had gone through to Murrayfield the day before to see Scotland outplay Fiji.

Dundee took an early lead through good strong running from Patrick Galvin to score with the conversion attempt unsuccessful. Perthshire then grew into the game with their own score also missing their conversion attempt. With the scores level Dundee began to win the territorial and possession battle which led a score from Harris Falconer through good support play. This spurred Perthshire onward and through some strong running through their forwards secured another score before half-time which was also converted successfully.

The second half saw more of the same strong running from Perthshire, with the Dundee defense holding firm and some try saving tackles that pushed Perthshire backwards. Again Dundee's scrummaging and support play was rewarded with a blistering converted score by Keir Laird, giving Dundee the advantage in a very tight game. Perthshire replied in kind from a lineout move to bring the scores level with 5 mins remaining. Dundee pressed hard from the restart putting Perthshire under pressure in their own half, from quick ruck ball and a show and go from Harris Falconer, who burst through the Perthshire defence to secure the winning converted score.

The scoreline reflected a tight game which in the end Dundee deserved to win. The team look forward to hosting Falkirk at home on 17th November.
